The Plan-Resource Tradeoff in Personalized Education and Strategies for Addressing It

Short Description

This session explores constraints in the design of personalized education. Even in an era of expanding technological possibilities, a tradeoff exists between the number of unique, personalized educational plans an educational provider can support, and the resources they can allot to each student’s plan. It is argued that effective design of personalized systems must make peace with this tradeoff. Towards this end, four classic strategies for addressing this tradeoff will be presented, with case examples.
