Critical Techno Constructivism: Toward a unified computer learning theory

Wed, Nov 4, 10:30 to 11:45am EST (10:30 to 11:45am EST), Virtual AECT, River18

Short Description

Why did we make the ambitious move to purchase classroom computers to only then place them along the wall or in the corners? Why did we put a tool that allows students complete freedom of expression and expect that they would work only individually to do it? Why did we give them a machine capable of allowing them to freely transform information but dictate that they instead use it to answer questions built from a narrow data set? And why are we still doing this with computers in classrooms today?
