Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) is a growing trend among institutions that value student self-awareness and cultural competence, international partnerships, and online learning. James Madison University (USA) and Kansai University (Japan) used the COIL methodology to collaboratively design instruction; deliver online activities via Class2Class LMS; and report meaningful outcomes with implications for further research. This project was funded by a grant from the American Council on Education (ACE) in Washington, DC, and incorporates the BEVI instrument for assessment.
