Developing Non-facilitated Micro-credentials Through Self-Regulated Learning Theory

Thu, Nov 5, 3:00 to 4:15pm EST (3:00 to 4:15pm EST), Virtual AECT, Grand4

Short Description

Non-facilitated micro-credentials are competency-based learning opportunities without peer- or facilitator-feedback. Born from a response to learner feedback for 1) smaller learning, 2) more time, and 3) year-round access in a micro-credential initiative, and utilizing self-regulated learning theory, LMS tools were leveraged to create a learner-driven environment without connectivist properties. This session will showcase the design and engage attendees in a discussion on the use of self-regulated learning theory and LMS capabilities for future design considerations.
