An Exploration of Strategic Alignment in Higher Education

Fri, Nov 6, 10:30 to 11:45am EST (10:30 to 11:45am EST), Virtual AECT, Grand8

Short Description

This study explored the faculty’s experience and perspective of the alignment between their research, teaching, and service to institutional priorities. The study found that an institutional priority is enrollment, a college priority is recruitment and retention, and a departmental priority is new majors. Participants reported that strategic priorities are important but inefficient. When strategic priorities are communicated efficiently and effectively, there is a good response to change and connection with performance merits.
