What Matters for Evaluating Educational Technology Innovations: Context, Methodology, or Outcomes?

Short Description

Educational technology (EdTech) and human-computer interaction (HCI) fields overlap regarding the research and innovation of learning and teaching technologies. In order to examine how EdTech innovations are being implemented and evaluated in the HCI field, this systematic review looks at major HCI conference proceedings (e.g., CHI, CSCW, IDC) and TOCHI journal for 2015-2019. We aim to develop a set of guidelines for rigorous evaluation that can be adapted by researchers and practitioners from both disciplines.
