A small group of people locked in a room, solving riddles and puzzles to escape with limited time (Kinio et al., 2019) may not sound like a profoundly different pedagogical strategy; however, escape room research indicates differently, with virtual and physical implementations used to increase thinking and communication skills across disciplines (Nicholson, 2016).
