Empowering Teaching of K-12 Educators through “Maker” and 3D Design Experiences

Short Description

This study designed and implemented instructional interventions on makerspace to prepare K-12 educators for integrating makerspace and maker technology into teaching. The interventions included maker projects, telepresence fieldtrips to makerspace, maker lesson design, and readings & discussions. The interventions, delivered online, enabled participants to access makerspace resources through telepresence robots. The results show that the participants highly engaged in the activities and the makerspace interventions were effective in improving knowledge in maker technology and pedagogy.
