Conducting Research Within Indigenous Populations As a Non-Native

Sat, Nov 7, 9:00 to 10:15am EST (9:00 to 10:15am EST), Virtual AECT, City5

Short Description

Conducting research on Indigenous populations as a non-Native can pose several challenges and barriers to entry including access to an appropriate population sample, appropriate use of Indigenous research methodologies, and honoring Indigenous protocols. During this session, best practices will be shared to successfully approach research design with Indigenous populations. Also, cultural and ethical implications will be discussed to identify potential implicit or explicit researcher or institutional biases.
