The purpose of this research is to examine the effect different levels of segmenting a narrated multimedia video on three learner outcomes: recall, transfer, and motivation. It is hypothesized that more segments may lead to better performance (Doolittle et al., 2015) by managing the intrinsic load of the content. However, it may be that too many segments could have a negative effect on student perception, causing a reduction in student motivation (Doolittle et al., 2015).
