Lessons Learned from an Active Learning Classroom Faculty Development Experience

Short Description

Considering active learning classrooms can be a new overwhelming experience to teach, faculty development programs must provide observational examples, adequate training that helps utilize the new technology integrated, and support to demonstrate application of a faculty participant’s instructional context. After participating in an active learning classroom program, this study demonstrated how the program met some developmental needs while needing to improve on others. A quantitative survey and qualitative focus groups were combined for this study.
