Short Description

The mobile applications developed for length or distance measurement has potential to reshape children’s learning experiences. This qualitative study investigated how measurement apps were used to engage 4th-grade children in mathematical discourse when they estimated length measurement of real-world objects. The findings showed that children’s mathematization was mediated by the mobile technology during embodied activities in realistic contexts.
