Does experience with multimedia determine student perception of the online Community of Inquiry model in the courses delivered via LMS, if so to what extent? This principal research question is addressed based on empirical quantitative and qualitative data. The findings provide solid evidence that the magnitude of previous involvement in the multimedia-based learning process including experience with media production significantly shape learner’s perception of the overall community of inquiry, specifically teaching, social and cognitive presence.
