Design for Learning: Principles, Processes, and Praxis

Fri, Nov 6, 1:00 to 1:45pm EST (1:00 to 1:45pm EST), Virtual AECT, Grand8

Short Description

This book is meant to teach the core application of design thinking in the context of creating a learning environment. It is an edited volume, featuring contributions from both academic researchers and practitioners. Book chapters focus on design thinking as a way of investigating learning problems, designing effective learning solutions, and testing them so they fit into the contexts in which they are meant to be used. And because the classic approaches to instructional design are still important for many practitioners, the book also includes chapters addressing principles central to the systematic design of instruction. Our target audience is first semester graduate students as well as advanced undergraduates, with an anticipated context of use in introductory instructional design skills courses. It is an open textbook to be published at EdTechBooks.org, Fall 2020.
