Deliberately aligning pedagogy with technology is essential for designing effective technology-mediated learning experiences. This study examined the process of aligning technology with pedagogical purposes during the design of a fully-online instructor-facilitated teacher professional development course. The analysis revealed a set of interconnected themes and uncovered a pattern representing the alignment process. Pedagogical intent is identified as a potentially valuable guiding principle for utilizing available technology to meet pedagogical needs and develop pedagogically-driven and learner-oriented designs.
