Texts can be structured in a number of different ways, both in print books and in online media. Researchers have long studied how different text structures can influence learning, and one of these structures is called refutation text. Refutation text states a misconception, refutes it, and provides a correct explanation. This meta-analysis examines how refutation text influences learning compared to other conditions.
