Designing Effective Instructional Methods for Teaching Computational Thinking

Mon, Nov 2, 7:30 to 8:30am EST (7:30 to 8:30am EST), Virtual AECT, Gallery Walk

Short Description

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of two different approaches when teaching
computational concepts with block-based programming language in an online environment.
Different teaching approaches were delivered in each experimental group via web-based
instruction. The study employed a pretest-posttest control-group randomized-group design.
While both approaches increased the learning outcomes of all domains, the results were mixed.
These findings and implications will be further discussed.
