For this session, the authors will summarize their findings from a recently published article that covers a conceptual framework for scholars and practitioners to explore the design and implementation of any instructional activities associated with cognition, embodiment, problem-solving, and social skills featuring immersive environments. Results from the article include the proposed S.P.E.C.I.A.L. framework. An interdisciplinary theoretical framework can guide future studies on the factors which support learning outcomes in immersive environments.
