This study aims to examine whether using project-based learning (PBL), game-based learning (GBL), and hands-on AI-sploit modules in virtual labs can increase students’ learning outcomes. The experimental study was conducted in an undergraduate course with 32 students at a midwestern university. The T-tests and paired t-tests were conducted on the pre-and post-test. The results indicated that using PBL, GBL, and the proposed AI-sploit tool can significantly improve students’ learning outcomes for teaching interdisciplinary aspects of AI in cybersecurity.
