Photo-Based Discussion Protocols to Support Community of Inquiry in Online Discussions

Short Description

This interactive presentation will engage educators and researchers in exploring innovative approaches to designing asynchronous discussions by using online discussion protocols that leverage photos. Posts and replies from an asynchronous discussion were analyzed for indicators of cognitive, social, and teaching presences. Research findings may enable educators to provide additional guidance to students on the types of photos to post in these discussions to generate a well-rounded community of inquiry.
