Short Description

Research has demonstrated that practicing retrieving information (e.g., self-testing) leads to better long-term knowledge retention as compared to re-reading the material alone without testing. In this presentation, the presenter will share how dental students used flashcards on an online learning platform (Osmosis.org) for self-testing as a study strategy, as well as how self-testing with web-based flashcards correlated with students’ learning performance in basic science courses.
