Using Structural Equation Modeling, the researchers discovered activity emotions singularly and significantly mediated teaching presence and cognitive presence to predict and affect academic achievement. This research was the first to pinpoint the impact of activity emotions on academic achievement in online learning. Thus, it implies the need to develop new learning theories and design models based on affective cognitive neuroscience.
