The COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult for schoolteachers to promote student interest during online learning. Virtual Field Trips (VFTs) are a promising approach for this, as they offer students opportunities to connect with academic content in contextualized ways through video conferencing. This presentation reports study findings on the impact of VFTs on elementary students’ interest in four science domains: chemistry, geology, meteorology, and astronomy.
