This emerging technology session will explore the use of computer vision, a subfield of artificial intelligence, to extract, process, and analyze objects within instructional multimedia and classroom data sources. We will provide an introduction to computer vision and will outline potential use cases with a particular focus on how researchers can use the technology to examine learner engagement and create more accessible materials. Ethical considerations and best practices will be discussed.
