Researchers have seldom focused on students’ emotions in game-based or gamified learning, especially negative emotions. While it is important to create gamified experiences that are enjoyable, there is a need to understand how both positive and negative emotions influence students’ learning. This study investigated what kinds of emotions students felt in a gamified learning environment and what factors contributed to their positive and negative emotions.
