Short Description

This is the second presentation in an ongoing dissertation study completed before the conference. The use of science fiction to motivate STEM literacy and interest is an important pedagogical innovation in the ongoing development of Guided Inquiry Design techniques and approaches. The results of this study suggest that science fiction can be effective as an introduction to STEM, and it also yielded some surprising phenomena about student preferences and learning styles during the COVID-19 pandemic.
