Short Description

The purpose of this roundtable session is to review the impact to student learning, engagement and motivation of the purposeful integration of varied formal and informal mentoring activities with online course design. The roundtable session will begin by briefly presenting research from a historical perspective on the impact of mentoring activities with student learning, engagement and motivation. Next, the session will review a recent research study that integrated diverse formal and informal mentoring activities with an online course. Finally, the roundtable session will conclude in a participatory format that allows for group discussion and idea sharing of experiences for integrating mentoring activities and tools.
