Short Description

This qualitative study explored the interrelationship of recurrent skill and non-recurrent skills. Findings showed that the automated recurrent skills free up student’s cognitive capacity to focus on non-recurrent skills development. Less experienced students had high cognitive load at the beginning but the load was reduced as they automated recurrent skills and gained more expertise. This study also found that learning time plays an essential role in the development speed of recurrent skills and non-recurrent skills.
