Students’ Challenges in Working on a Simulated Case Study: An Empirical Investigation

Tue, Oct 25, 3:20 to 3:35pm PDT (3:20 to 3:35pm PDT), Conf Center, Sunset 3

Short Description

Problem solving is an important 21st century skill. Case-based learning can provide students with the opportunity to solve ill-structured problems. In an attempt to expose students to real-life problem solving, this study implemented a simulated case study approach that presented a case in two progressive phases. Analysis of students’ responses to the two phases revealed their challenges in different aspects of the case study. Further research directions and practical implications will be discussed.
