Creating online tools for student learning is a complex organizational activity. To better understand how organizational capacities contribute to this process, we applied a systems perspective. We focused our investigation on using the mapping software Plectica to document and relate organizational capacities to several salient themes: systems connections, adaptability, knowledge management, inquiry, and culture. We share results of our mapping to highlight how organizational learning can facilitate the creation of online learning tools for students.
