As Universal Design for Learning (UDL) gets growing attention from researchers and practitioners considering the barriers that may hinder the learning process, it is still unclear how UDL has been and could be integrated into online education to support positive learning experiences. Following the PRISMA guideline, we conducted a systematic literature review in critiquing articles published in the past two decades to explore the evidence-based practice, impacts, and challenges of incorporating universal design in online learning.
