Short Description

Underrepresented learners tend to have difficulties establishing a sense of belonging in traditional classrooms as well as in distance learning environments. Through a narrative literature review, we aim to identify pedagogical challenges and approaches for cultivating a sense of belonging among underrepresented learners in distance learning environments. This presentation will comprehensively guide online instructors and instructional designers to establish an equitable learning experience that ensures a sense of belonging for underrepresented learners in higher education.
