In this session, we will present findings from a systematic literature review that interrogates the degree to which autistic groups are involved in virtual-reality/immersive technology-related research that purports to have benefits for them. Specifically, we consider issues of deployment and uptake in this field, and whether autistic people and stakeholders are involved in this work, and their level of involvement. Implications and directions for further research are discussed.
