Short Description

In this presentation, we aim to provide a chronological field advancement on the emotional presence research in the Community of Inquiry (CoI). Reviewing history-to-date papers published between 2006 to 2022 that focused on emotional presence in the context of CoI, we found emotion was salient, distinctive, and ubiquitous in online learning and emotional presence impacted course satisfaction. We will share newly proposed emotional presence models and discuss future research directions.
