Short Description

A decline in young adults’ empathy can negatively influence their longitudinal academic and career success. This action research study thus evaluated the effect of a robotics-based intervention on empathy for students enrolled in secondary English and literature courses. A convergent mixed methods design was applied. The findings indicated the robotics-based intervention significantly impacted student overall empathy levels and their scores in the specific domain of Fantasy. Practice implications on fostering student empathy will be discussed.
