In this study, we examine the effectiveness of Engineering Design based instruction on learners' problem-solving ability. Based on the Engineering Design, we classified the problem solving action into three categories. The three problem-solving actions are definition, generation, and optimization. We design and implement the Engineering Design-based Instruction on high school Information class. As a result of the instruction, we measure and evaluate the changes in each problem-solving action of learners.
