Short Description

In this systematic literature review, we first identified examples of social media use in traditional educational contexts, next analyzed the educational social media use, and finally identified specific affordances being used. From this review, we were able to identify trends across examples of educational social media use, consider areas of opportunity to maximize educational affordances of social media, and formulate new methodologies for determining the meaningfulness of specific tool use.
