Transforming Assessment Practices: Making our Students Learning a Priority

Tue, Oct 25, 1:30 to 1:45pm PDT (1:30 to 1:45pm PDT), Conf Center, Sunset 4

Short Description

Ungrading is an increasingly leveraged pedagogical method used to assess students’ learning. This approach reflects that grades can have harmful effects on students’ well-being, academic achievement, and learning. As such, our research explores pre-service and in-service teachers’ perceptions of being ‘ungraded” in their coursework. Our initial findings indicate that our students perceived this practice to be student-centered and encouraged them to engage in expansive and meaningful learning opportunities.
