Short Description

Numerous empirical studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of learning analytics (LA) systems. Recent educational initiative has further examined the possibility of constructing fair and ethical LA tools. However, most studies on fair LA were limited to algorithmic fairness, while few have examined students’ perceived fairness towards such predictive systems. This study aimed to explore and understand factors that shape students’ perceived fairness towards an LA system for math learning at the college level.
