One way to engage students and impact learning is through the integration of authentic assessments, yet it is unclear what dimensions of authentic assessment educators prioritize. This study examined self-reflections, peer feedback, and instructional artifacts created by fourteen in-service teachers in an online graduate course. Findings indicate teachers prioritized realism and cognitive thinking over evaluative judgment. Implications include the importance of peer feedback from colleagues, who accurately identified authentic assessment opportunities within classmates’ learning designs.
