Short Description

In recent years, virtual field trips (VFTs) are used increasingly in K-12 classrooms for instructional purposes in different subject areas, particularly during COVID transitions. To better understand the trends of VFTs and immersive technologies research, the purpose of this review is to investigate research from the past decade (2011-2021) on pedagogical use of VFTs in K-12 classrooms and synthesizes the impact of VFTs on students learning to inform future research and practices.
