The goal of this presentation is three-fold. First, we will overview emerging applications and technologies that are assistive for blind and visually impaired (BVI) students. Second, we will present findings of a qualitative case study of a blind student sharing his daily challenges with learning online and his impressions of using emerging technologies. Third, the audience will use some immersive technologies (i.e., virtual reality and mixed reality) in the context of BVI.
