The study was conducted in two postgraduate classes to examine the change in their study skills as they progress from the coursework to the dissertation stage. As the students move from coursework to the dissertation stage, it requires them to adopt a deeper understanding of the content so that they can compare and contrast the theories in their disciplinary field and connect the dots. Students will struggle a lot if they adopt a surface approach to study particularly at the dissertation stage.
