The goal of this study is to examine how teens use social media outside of the classroom to navigate different aspects of their school life. We analyzed teens’ interview and video diary data through thematic analysis. The findings show that teens’ social media use can impact not just their curriculum learning, but also their social lives, involvement in advocacy, and future endeavors at school. Based on the findings, we offer school practitioners and researchers suggestions.
