Wed, Oct 26, 11:30am to 12:25pm PDT (11:30am to 12:25pm PDT), Conf Center, Celebrity 4

Short Description

Several studies indicate that students’ cognitive loads should be considered in the design of online courses. Cognitive load has been recognized as an important factor in successful and efficient learning. Several strategies exist to reduce cognitive load in online courses, but do these strategies apply to online programs. This presentation will discuss the research findings of a mixed-methods study that investigated the relationship between cognitive load and program design as it relates to student learning.
