Impact of ambisonic sound and immersive experience on learners using high-immersion virtual reality vs. tablet

Mon, Oct 24, 2:40 to 2:55pm PDT (2:40 to 2:55pm PDT), Conf Center, Melrose 1

Short Description

The immersive, interactive nature of virtual reality (VR) can support learning by increasing student engagement and motivation. Multisensory-rich VR experiences are designed to enhance learning, but extensive sensory stimuli could instead compromise learning through sensory overload. This interactive session explores the impact of ambisonic sound on recall, engagement, and sense of presence among learners using high-immersion VR or low-immersion tablet. The audience will experience the VR app and discuss effects of multisensory stimuli upon learning.
