Short Description

Studies in educational technology still too often rely on comparing an intervention with a "traditional" baseline. The infrastructuring approach could fill the gap by proactively and strategically working with the complexity of educational practice. Building on established methodologies such as design-based research, this presentation presents a framework of infrastructuring that has five components. It is hoped more studies could broaden the focus from technologies to include their surroundings to make lasting impact on learning.
