Short Description

Video-based learning is a primary instructional method used in online learning. Collaborative Video Viewing (CVV) has been introduced to online courses for engaging students in active learning and enhancing knowledge co-construction. Educational CVV mainly relies on asynchronous text-based tools which restrict social involvement. This study aims to compare asynchronous text-based and synchronous video-based collaborative watching tools in CVV and examine the effect on the learning process and outcome.
