Effects of the Segmenting and Generative Activities Principles on Student Learning

Thu, Oct 27, 9:50 to 10:05am PDT (9:50 to 10:05am PDT), Conf Center, Melrose 1

Short Description

This experimental study examined the application of two multimedia principles, together and in combination on student learning. The signaling and generative activities principles (Mayer, 2021) were selected for study since they can work together – with generative activities conducted in segmenting breaks. The two variables create a 2x2 factorial design. Results will be presented with discussion about the effects of combining the two principles when compared two each principle individually, and a treatment with neither principle applied.
