We investigate the use of pedagogical designs that support student learning within extended reality environments, toward developing design guidelines for instructors who are integrating emerging technologies within learning contexts. The study is situated within a one-credit, semester-long graduate course called Educational Applications of Augmented and Virtual Reality. Using a visual timelines method, the study identifies sequences, patterns, and orchestration moves that support student learning within highly immersive environments, attending to matters of equitable access.
